Advanced Placement Calculus
Calc Book.jpg
AP Calculus is equivalent to a FIRST SEMESTER college calculus course.
This course will feature most major topics pertaining to derivatives,
integrals and their applications.  On Wednesday, May 8th, 2013 students
will have the opportunity to take the AP Calculus AB Exam. A student
earning a 3, 4, or a 5 on the exam can possibly earn college credit for
this course.  It is highly recommended that ALL students take the AP exam.
Review for the AP exam will begin approximately three weeks before the
exam date.  The final exam will take place at least one week before the
exam date.  The exam will be a “real” AP test.  The results of the final
and the test itself will be used as the last study aide for the 2013AP
Calculus Exam.

I am excited for this year and am looking to improve the passing rate for this year's graduating class.  Last year, the Class of 2012 performed extremely well on the exam. As a whole they achieved a 90% passing rate.  In addition 79% achieved a score of 4 or 5.  No one scored in the lowest quartile for FRQ and over 50% scored in the highest quarter of all students that took the test.  Way to go class of 2012, but watch out as the class of 2013 is looking to best your efforts.
