I have been teaching sixth grade on team 602 at Faribault Middle School since 1997. The previous four years I taught sixth grade at Lincoln Elementary. My subject area is Language Arts/Reading.
I received my teaching degree from Minnesota State University - Mankato in 1993 and a Masters of Science degree from Winona State University in 2000. I continue to take classes and/or attend workshops specific to my subject area and adolescent learners.
Since the summer of 2006, I have been involved with the Minnesota Writing Project(MWP) through the University of Minnesota. I attended the MWP Summer Institute at the University of Minnesota during the summer of 2006 and have since been involved in ongoing writing groups, professional book studies and seminars. MWP is a research based staff development program to improve the teaching of writing and reading.
