Current teaching assignments
I have been teaching journalism and mass communications at Faribault High School since 1986. I took a five-year leave of absence from 2000-2005 to work as reporter and photographer. I returned to the classroom in 2006, and I am currently instructing Journalism at FHS and advising the newspaper, The Echo. A variety of advanced journalism students work with me on an independent study basis throughout the day.

I also teach Video Vision, Photography/Graphic Design and Read 180.

In 2011/2012, I was selected to work as the Pyramid of Intervention coordinator. This program is designed to offer homework assistance to students whose report cards indicate they have not received passing grades in all their classes. Students are also selected for POI if they are behind in credits necessary for graduation, and if they have not passed mandatory state tests required for graduation. POI is required during homeroom on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Students will have the opportunity to work with teachers and tutors on their homework. Instead of attending their regular homeroom, they are required to attend a homework help session in a designated room.
