YOU'RE IT. GET FIT!
My name is Jillian Specht and I am one of the Physcial Education teachers at Roosevelt Elementary. This is my fifth year in the Faribault School District, and my third year at Roosevelt Elementary. I have always had a passion for being healthy and staying active, as well as being around kids - my job could not be more fit for me!
I am currently enrolled at Minnesota State University in Mankato, completing an online Masters Degree in Physical Education Pedagogy. I will graduate next May! I graduated from Winona State Univerisity in 2003 with a degree in Health and Physical Education, a minor in Coaching and a license in Developmental Adaptive Physical Education. I previously taught two years of Health and Physical Education at the Middle/High School level in Le Center, MN before I came to the Faribault School District. I have experience coaching many different sports and love to see kids being active while doing activities they love.
My family and I live in the Roosevelt School boundary, which means my children will someday be Roosevelt Rockets themselves. My husband is a History teacher in New Prague. We have a daughter who is five years old and a son who is one year old. We spend our free time doing lots of camping, boating, hiking and watching sports - one of our daughter's first words: "bababawwl" (basketball) and our son's: "bump" (jump). My favorite sport to watch/play would have to be soccer. I have played soccer most of my life, including four years at WSU - You can still find me kicking a ball around from time to time, it is one of my greatest loves in life!
