I graduated from Mankato State University in 1983 with a degree in teaching secondary social studies. I started working with at risk High School children in the fall of 1983 at the Constance Bultman Wilson Academy in Faribault, MN. I worked there for 5 years.
I started teaching at the Faribault Junior High School Off Campus Program in 1988. I earned an Special Education EBD certification at that time.
In 1990 I moved to the elementary level at the Hans Anderson School in Minneapolis. I worked in a self contained classroom. It was a terrific learning experience.
I moved back to Faribault the following year and continued working in the elementary setting. Along the way I earned a Masters Degree in Special Education an Administrative certification.
